Rain and the onion pakodas..

Its a rainy day... One that along with rain showers brings down the temperature also. A big relief on a summer like now. On my way back from office; this rainy day brought in the interest (rather memories!!) to eat hot onion pakoda with ketchup.. The thought itself was making my mouth watery. So decided that time itself to prepare it anyhow. Now there was a problem; I haven't ever prepared onion pakodas in my life. The last time I remember anybody making onion pakoda was my mom; way back some 7-8 years ago, so that memory was not going to be of much help. So came my colleagues to my rescue; they told me a simple yet tasty recipe. With the recipe in hand and eagerness in mind; I was all charged up to fry some tongue tickling pakodas (At least hoping that it should be tongue touchable enough!!!).

I reached home by 9.15 pm. (I know its late and people eat their dinner at this time, but still I was unstoppable!!!). Having bought all the essentials; started to mix the dough with besan, chili powder, salt, onion (straight cut) and green chillies. It was my first trial so had just mixed a small amount of dough. With the feeling that the dough was consistent enough; i took some small helpings and let it fry over heated oil. It was the time to taste; once the pakodas were rolled over in the oil and had attained the golden brown color. I did the honors.. Hot pakodas dipped in kissan tomato ketchup.. Hmmmm... Once the pakodas started melting in my mouth the trouble felt all worth it. It was just awesome. Others who ate also said the same about it (or were they being modest!!)... So at the end of the endeavor i needed to thank my colleagues. And to prove that I did fry the pakodas I took a snap... Here it is....

PS: I know its been long since I blogged. Well not that nothing has happened in my life.. actually quite a lot has happened in my life. Not yet ready to write all that. maybe someday soon...
